Software Engineer (Hybrid)

This is a hybrid role with one day per week at Cisco’s Annapolis Junction office. Design and engineer hybrid cloud environments using Azure and industry best practices to deliver resilient, automated solutions. Lead the creation of technical design documentation and contribute to user access visibility tooling for both internal teams and end users. Drive innovation by transforming manual processes into automated systems that enhance governance, compliance, and operational efficiency. Serve as a subject matter expert in PowerShell automation and Windows internals, mentoring DevOps engineers and collaborating across business units to deliver high-quality features. Identify and resolve software issues during development and production, perform thorough code reviews, and lead postmortem root cause analyses to continuously improve software reliability.

Bachelor’s degree + 7 years of related experience  Experience with Azure architecture, cloud infrastructure, and hybrid environments Experience with PowerShell automation and Windows internals Experience with deploying software solutions in both on-premises and AWS environments Experience with identity/security modernization and operationalizing user access policies Preferred Qualifications Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and mentor engineering teams Strong collaborative skills with networking and security teams to deliver customer-centric solutions Excellent documentation and technical communication abilities Demonstrated track record of innovation and continuous improvement in software development processes Ability to drive strategic initiatives and provide thought leadership to executive leadership.
