Summary The Senior Platform Engineer will lead the design, operation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s data and platform services across a complex portfolio of cloud, analytics, and AI-enabled workloads. This role is responsible for establishing a reliable operating model that brings together platform health, service ownership, incident response, observability, and governance across tools used in our organization. The individual will partner closely with AMS, platform teams, and business stakeholders to reduce manual operational effort, improve service visibility, and strengthen operational resilience. This role is focused on building a consistent, enterprise-ready foundation for platform operations—spanning monitoring, alerting, vendor accountability, performance optimization, cost awareness, and support excellence. The Senior Platform Engineer will drive the adoption of shared standards, define escalation paths, improve observability maturity, and support the modernization of data platform operations to provide a holistic view of platform health and risk. The ideal candidate is a high-impact technical leader who can translate operational complexity into clear priorities, measurable outcomes, and actionable improvement plans.

Identifies performance bottlenecks, conducts root cause analysis, and proposes and implements solutions to enhance platform & system performance and resource utilization. Establishes performance benchmarks, conducts capacity planning, and collaborates with other teams, including junior engineers and cross functional teams to optimize infrastructure performance and activities. Contributes to the development and improvement of troubleshooting procedures, measures to minimize platform & system downtime, and documentation. Partners with vendor technical support to drive for resolution. Leads and manages platform & system technical support activities and troubleshooting efforts, including handling escalated and complex issues. Performs advanced system tuning and optimization to maximize performance using IT Service Management practices. Collaborates with internal teams to enhance support processes and methodologies. Participates in future platform & system backup planning. Leads the design of disaster/system recovery and testing. Analyzes performance and utilization data to identify trends and patterns; provides recommendations for optimization and improvement; prepares comprehensive reports on infrastructure performance; and implements corrective actions to drive continuous system improvements Leads the design and configuration of complex platforms & systems, considering best practices and industry standards. Leads ongoing compliance with original design and configuration and corrects for deviation from standards. Builds and deploys highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions. Leads the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive knowledge base for platforms & systems, including troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, and best practices. Promotes knowledge sharing culture by organizing training sessions, mentoring junior engineers, and encouraging cross-team collaboration. Develops platform automation scripts and utilities in .NET, Python, Bash, and PowerShell. Builds and supports CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps workflows for reliable, consistent deployments. Builds, maintains, and governs CI/CD pipelines for Azure Machine Learning and Azure AI Foundry workloads, including infrastructure provisioning, deployment automation, security controls, environment promotion, and operational monitoring.
