Import & Export Logistics Specialist

Summary As an Import & Export Logistics Specialist at GE Aerospace you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across international borders, supporting our global operations.

Responsibilities: Manage and execute all aspects of import and export operations, including customs declarations, trade compliance, and documentation for air, sea, and road freight. Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. Ensure adherence to all relevant international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies, including EAR, ITAR, and other applicable export control regulations. Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and import/export licenses. Track and monitor shipments, proactively identifying and resolving potential delays or issues. Conduct regular audits of import/export activities and documentation to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and legal teams to optimize logistics processes and minimize risks. Stay informed of changes in international trade regulations and communicate their impact to relevant departments. Utilize and maintain various logistics and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Participate in special projects related to supply chain optimization and global trade compliance.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in import and export logistics, preferably within a manufacturing or aerospace environment. In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping procedures (e.g., Incoterms). Proven experience with customs documentation and declarations. Familiarity with export control regulations such as EAR and ITAR is highly desirable. Proficiency in using logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
