About this role

About Mach Industries Founded in 2023, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms . At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 350 employees , we operate with startup agility and ambition. Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.

The Role

Working with avionics means working at the heart of the vehicle — the core that connects and enables every other subsystem. This role is inherently collaborative, bridging (GNC), software, mechanical, and thermal disciplines to create a unified platform with the required defense capabilities. Every function depends on a robust and compatible avionics architecture, where everything needs to be developed and extensively tested, making this position critical to the vehicle’s overall performance and mission success. It’s a uniquely challenging role that balances diverse technical demands focused on electronics & software, that integrates complex systems, and ensures every component works together seamlessly to deliver cutting-edge unmanned capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Development and integration of Avionics systems Define and maintain functionality of avionics systems with vehicle, system iterations and updates Develop and manage high-level block diagrams to represent system functions and interfaces Collaborate closely with vehicle teams to define electrical and system requirements Design and provide technical support for Iron-birds, prototypes, and special projects Troubleshooting avionics systems in both hardware and software, and developing effective solutions Integration and testing of new systems, sensors, and subsystems with current avionics into new vehicle prototypes, ensuring functionality and compatibility. Designing and supporting post integration configurations and checks for avionics systems Creating processes and procedures for the above, and providing training to technicians Ability to run tradeoffs of different systems, subsystems, and components Required Qualifications 1-4 years of experience with unmanned aerial systems - Any (Preferred fixed wing & jet powered vehicles) PX4 & Ardupilot development - Basic understanding of concepts QGroundControl & Mission planner - configuration, calibration, mission planning. Understanding of concepts and systems like Pixhawk standard, MAVLink, different types of sensors, and how they are used in Unmanned systems Knowledge in RF systems - Experience with software defined radios, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of comms links Network & analysis - Wireshark, iperf3, general Ip networking diagnostics Fundamental electronics - Understanding of power systems, communication protocols, schematics, PCB level debugging, and experience with Altium Lab tools - Oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, multimeter, soldering, power supply & load Software & OS knowledge - Know how to work with Linux environments, GitHub CAD for prototyping - Any System architecture and visualization - Any (Preferred Lucidchart, drawIO) Documentation - Clear technical writing and version controlled documentation using modern tools Work ethic - Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines Must have a passion for aviation, unmanned systems, and technologies Preferred Qualifications PX4 & Ardupilot development - custom firmware modifications, driver implementation, simulation & system integration Qgroundcontrol & Mission planner - Advanced configuration, testing of systems and subsystems on a full vehicle operational level Advanced understanding of concepts and
