Software Engineering Manager

Work Model: Work Model: You’ll work in a hybrid model, onsite at your designated Regal Rexnord location at least 3 days per week (Monday–Thursday), with flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days, including Friday. ____________________ Position Overview:   We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead product planning, technical execution, and team leadership for our servo drive development teams. In this role, you will shape firmware priorities, coordinate product roadmaps with Product Management, and guide major software efforts from concept through release.  Based at our global headquarters in Radford VA, this position offers a hands-on, team-oriented environment. We emphasize continuous improvement and agile development to create products known for quality and features. We design products with the depth and flexibility advanced controls engineers need, while keeping them approachable for engineers who are earlier in their careers.  This role sits at the center of a cross-functional engineering environment where firmware, tools, and product direction must stay aligned. Own software backlog priorities, technical direction, and release planning.  Turn product goals into clear development plans, stories, and execution priorities.  Partner with Product Management, application engineers, and other technical leaders to maintain a coordinated product roadmap.  Lead major software efforts for servo drive products, including scope, architecture, and priorities.  Drive planning and requirements definition so teams build the right products with disciplined execution.  Provide people leadership to embedded software engineers.  Promote strong collaboration between engineering teams during planning and execution.  Support the growth of engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and feedback.  Mentor early-career engineers in software development, industrial control system knowledge, and engineering practice.  Responsibilities will scale with experience. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.    Required Skills and Qualifications:   Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field required.  10+ years of software development experience required. 5+ years of software leadership experience (project or people leadership) required. Experience working with embedded software teams required.  Software Product Leadership : Ability to own backlog flow, feature planning, and cross-team execution.  Technical Leadership : Proven ability to guide software teams on architecture, product direction, and major project execution.  Planning and Prioritization : Ability to coordinate priorities between Engineering, Customer Support, and Product Management while keeping technical execution on track.  Communication : Clear communication with engineers, managers, application engineers, and product stakeholders.  Decision Quality: Good judgment in tradeoffs, scope, risk, and execution timing.

Leadership : Ability to align teams, remove blockers, and maintain progress on important work.  Learning Agility : Ability to learn products, customer use cases, and business context quickly.    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:   Experience in industrial automation, motion control, or related products strongly preferred.  Motion control or servo drive product experience.  Industrial control systems experience.
