About this role

Intuit's Global Business Solutions Group (GBSG) powers QuickBooks and Mailchimp — serving small and mid-market business customers whose operations depend on us every day. At the heart of GBSG's operational excellence is the ability to accurately predict customer demand and translate it into expert supply — getting the right experts, in the right channels, at the right time, across a 24/7 global operation. We are looking for a Manager 2, Data Science to lead the Demand Planning Data Science team within GBSG's Expert Network. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role sitting at the intersection of advanced forecasting, operational strategy, and cross-functional leadership. You will own the models, methodologies, and insights that drive how Intuit plans for and responds to customer demand across QuickBooks and Mailchimp service lines. Why This Role Outsized impact: Your models directly shape how GBSG's Expert Network is deployed year-round, with direct implications for customer experience and cost Executive visibility: Forecast outputs routinely surface at Senior Leadership and CEO staff level Cross-functional seat: You'll partner deeply across WFM, Finance, Product, and Service Delivery — not siloed in a data team Scale: GBSG serves millions of small and mid-market business customers whose operations depend on Intuit continuously, not seasonally Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists focused on demand forecasting, capacity signal generation, and supply-demand optimization across GBSG's service lines Build AI fluency from the top down within the team — hands-on usage, not delegated adoption Partner with WFM, Finance, and Product to embed DS outputs into planning workflows and decision-making cycles Demand Forecasting & Modeling Own end-to-end demand forecasting models for GBSG, spanning steady-state volume, growth-driven demand, and new service line launches Drive advancement of forecasting methodology — from traditional time-series approaches to ML-based demand signals incorporating product funnel, provisioning, and macroeconomic signals Ensure model accuracy, confidence intervals, and scenario planning outputs meet the needs of leadership and operational teams, in support of GBSG's back-office scaling ambitions Operational & Strategic Partnership Serve as the primary DS partner to GBSG Workforce Management and Capacity Planning leadership, translating forecast outputs into staffing and partner capacity recommendations Lead regular forecast review cadences with Finance, Service Delivery, and Product stakeholders Support executive-facing narratives on demand outlook, risk, and opportunity for GBSG leadership and CEO staff briefings Contribute forecasting inputs into enterprise-wide mechanisms (WBRs/MBRs, decision briefs, workforce and partner governance reviews) as part of embedding AI into how the org operates day to day Data Infrastructure & Governance Partner with Data Engineering to ensure upstream data pipelines are fit for GBSG forecasting use cases Establish standards for model documentation, validation, and version control Support the shift toward AI-native workflows — redesigning forecasting processes to accelerate analysis and decisions rather than simply layering AI onto existing steps Qualifications Required 7+ years of experience in data science, with at least 2+ years managing or leading teams Deep expertise in demand forecasting, time-series modeling, and/or supply-demand optimization Proficiency in Python and/or R; experience with SQL and large-scale data environments (e.g., Hive, Spark, BigQuery) Proven ability to translate model outputs into business decisions — comfortable presenting to senior leaders Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Finance, Operations, and Product teams Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field Preferred
