Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, brake, steering, suspension, HVAC, engine, and transmission concerns Complete repairs according to manufacturer and dealership standards Use scan tools and computerized diagnostic equipment Test-drive vehicles to confirm proper operation Document repairs and communicate findings clearly Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all dealership, manufacturer, OSHA, and EPA guidelines Participate in ongoing technical training
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Strong mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced shop environment Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills Professional attitude and commitment to quality
Previous dealership experience, ASE or manufacturer certifications, advanced diagnostic skills, and hybrid or EV experience are preferred but not required for entry-level candidates. Technicians should have a personal set of automotive hand tools appropriate for their experience level.
