This candidate will Monitor safety and security of the medical records on the living unit. Serves as an administrative assistant to the Sage unit. Responsible for monitoring compliance with established policies and procedures regarding the medical record process on the living unit. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Performs clerical duties to meet program needs, including: promptly handling informational requests and messages with courtesy and accuracy, posting memos and updates as needed, distributing incoming and outgoing mail; scheduling physician ordered-evaluations and off-campus appointments; preparing minutes from team meetings; making copies; updating and maintaining patient schedules, ensuring patients are on time for therapies. The following are the job requirements for the Unit Clerk position:

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Understanding of pertinent federal, state, and local regulations governing confidentiality and release of medical records. Familiarity with various types of documentation maintained in a medical, psychiatric, or rehabilitation setting. Basic understanding of medical terminology. Can work independently and productively with little supervision. Good organizational skills. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public. Ability to type (45 wpm) and use computer software programs preferred.

High school diploma or GED. Software training in most current versions of word-processing programs and spreadsheets. Accreditation Records Technician (ART or eligible) by the American Health Information Management Associations or degree in Business Administration or Management preferred. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: None Required.
