Position
Summary The Activities & Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, facilitating, and evaluating a variety of participant activities, recreational programs, and special events. This role is actively involved in every stage of programming—from preparation and setup to leading activities and post-event cleanup. Success in this position requires creativity, flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with participants while delivering exceptional experiences.
What You'll Do
Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging participant activities, events, and special programs Lead and actively participate in activities, encouraging involvement and creating a welcoming atmosphere Prepare activity materials, supplies, schedules, and event spaces in advance Set up and break down activity spaces while ensuring all materials are organized and available Coordinate day-of event logistics and provide hands-on support throughout activities Track attendance, participation, and maintain accurate activity documentation Monitor inventory and assist with ordering or organizing program supplies Communicate professionally with participants, staff, and other stakeholders Provide administrative support including filing, scanning, copying, data entry, and correspondence as needed Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a participant-centered approach Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in activities coordination, recreation, event support, customer service, or a related field preferred Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail Creative, proactive, and able to think on your feet Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer systems Professional, dependable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality Preferred Qualifications Experience planning or leading group activities, recreation programs, or events Experience working with diverse populations in an inclusive and respectful manner Familiarity with scheduling systems, attendance tracking, or inventory management Comfortable engaging directly with participants and leading hands-on activities Core Competencies We're looking for someone who is: Organized and dependable Friendly, approachable, and engaging Creative and resourceful Adaptable in a changing environment Service-oriented with a positive attitude A strong planner with excellent follow-through Able to prioritize
