HubSpot’s Investor Relations team is the critical connection point between the company and the external investment community. The IR team is responsible for communicating the company’s long-term strategy and financial results to investors and analysts, while bringing the external perspective back into the company and its leadership team.
Role Summary
The Investor Relations Associate will combine knowledge of finance and accounting, communications, marketing and securities compliance to assist in the execution of a strategic, comprehensive IR program. Day to day responsibilities include helping the IR team and HubSpot’s leaders develop strong relationships with the investment community, and enhancing their understanding of the company’s business model, long-term strategy, and financial results.
What You'll Do
• Manage day-to-day operations, including investor events, Analyst Day, marketing materials, the IR website and other vendor relationships
• Assist with all aspects of the earnings process, including earnings script and presentation development, and Q&A preparation
• Help plan and execute the team’s marketing plan, including conferences, non-deal roadshows, and bus tours
• Drive the team’s targeting program to help identify and engage the company’s next potential large shareholders, and help measure the overall effectiveness of the team’s engagement
• Analyze business fundamentals and valuations of both HubSpot and peer companies
• Analyze street reaction to competitive developments and HubSpot’s own corporate actions, and share those insights with company leadership
• Develop a wide set of internal business knowledge, and help craft external messaging based on that knowledge
• Ensure Reg FD compliance during all investor events including conference presentations, marketing, 1x1 meetings and conference calls
• Conduct ongoing monitoring and analysis of shareholder concerns to identify potential issues and enhance external communications
• Develop new and innovative ways to leverage AI to help the team operate more effectively and efficiently
• Partner with finance, legal, and communications leadership on high-priority initiatives
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 5+ years experience in investor relations, corporate finance, sell-side research, capital markets, investment banking, or corporate strategy
• Strong knowledge of finance / accounting and working knowledge of Reg FD
• Capital market knowledge, including proficiency in developing and understanding financial statements and valuation models commonly used by investors
• Ability to synthesize data and qualitative information and develop a compelling narrative for both an internal and external audience
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business and finance teams to build trust and deliver outcomes
• High curiosity and desire to learn more about capital markets, the software sector, and competitors
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Nice to Have Qualifications
• Knowledge of SaaS software industry sector a plus
• Emerging executive presence - comfort working and communicating directly with executives and the investment community in high-stakes settings
• Proficiency in IR tools such as FactSet and Irwin
