Standard Job Description This position reports to the Manager, Government Security Compliance and can be location in Ottawa, Montreal or Dartmouth and will support Counterintelligence and Investigations across the country. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following efforts including but not limited to: Provide expert investigative support including detailed data collection on actions taken and information gathered throughout the investigation to maintain case files and develop summaries or reports for internal stakeholders or external parties Ensure all investigations and operations comply with company protocols and legal requirements while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and discretion. Support threat management investigations, risk analysis and compliance support as necessary. Collaborate and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support investigation and operations. Develop and implement security strategies to address potential threats, risks, and vulnerabilities. Performs work with accuracy; exercises sound judgment in safeguarding confidential and sensitive information; practices diplomacy when dealing with people in sensitive situations. Writes timely, concise reports on incidents and communicates verbally on urgent matters. Ensures all incidents/events reported are evaluated, managed, investigated, closed or escalated for further investigation. Contributes to the reduction and prevention of Security incidents and breaches through identification of corrective measures. Manages relations with law enforcement agencies to collaborate on investigations. Basic Qualifications You are a multi-faceted teammate able to communicate and function effectively to create a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports the advancement and completion of mission goals. You have experience with itemized planning and prioritization of tasks that drives the efficient execution of objectives. You have outstanding written and oral communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills. 5+ years’ experience conducting investigations with background in employee or labor relations, law enforcement, or other related investigatory experience. Proficiency in investigative and analytical report writing. Well-refined interviewing and organizational skills are essential. Must be a self-starter with proven investigator skills and impeccable ethical standards. Operates effectively within a high stress environment with constantly changing expectations and regulatory & audit scrutiny. Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations. Effectively manages priorities, monitors and tracks performance, and addresses/escalates issues. Stays abreast of emerging issues and trends, together with relevant regulations and compliance standards to inform decision-making. Desired Skills Experience with Contract Security Program or Controlled Goods Program. Superior communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal customers at all levels. Extensive success collaborating with law enforcement and the intelligence community for mission success Ability to use analytical tools to draw conclusions, develop logical leads, and recommend defensive responses.
