Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you Job Description Details Seeking a strong thought leader to lead and manage a world-class Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Bus Product Line Organization. This leader will shape the future, leading a team focused on standard GNC products, technologies, processes, line of business (LOB) support, and advancing Enterprise and Engineering Strategic Threads. This position will oversee and own design authority for all standard GNC products, as well as ensure the technical integrity of LOB/Program design baselines, incorporation of best practices, model-based engineering, and common design. This position will set the overall strategy for Space Systems GNC products for the bus product line.
Primary Responsibilities
Planning and management of engineering critical skills to support LOB/programs. Providing oversight to the development and insertion of Common/Standard Products, including Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for new product line programs. Owning the Design Authority for the GNC talent center bus product line and supporting tools. Driving and executing active knowledge sharing through career planning and technical knowledge management, ensuring domain expertise across the entire team. Driving process and tool development/deployment, resolving critical technical issues, supporting new business initiatives, and ensuring standard technical processes are used on programs. Managing staffing requirements, planning job assignments and rotations, and conducting staff assessments. Collaborating to develop our GNC roadmap and supporting our IRAD investment strategy. Supporting proposals, Red Teams, and Independent Assessments (INARs) as required. Ensuring compliance with command media and dissemination of lessons learned for mission success. Organizing, motivating, and leading groups of engineering personnel, demonstrating in-depth GNC technical skills focused on mission success. Willingness to go on special assignments to solve LOB problems, including working on or leading Independent Review Teams (IRTs) and task forces. Managing subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Some travel (roughly 10%) will be expected.
