Job Description Leads the U.S. Retina Marketing team in Eye Care, with accountability for the vision, strategy, execution, and performance of both in-line and launch products. Sets portfolio and brand priorities; translates customer, market and competitive insights into differentiated strategies; and ensures disciplined investment and execution across the product life cycle. Leads and develops the Retina Marketing team and orchestrates cross-functional partners to deliver business objectives and make a remarkable impact on patients. Demonstrates a P&L ownership mindset and a One AbbVie perspective in all decisions. Responsibilities: Retina Marketing Strategy : Sets the overarching Retina Marketing strategy across in-line and pipeline assets. Ensure strategies reflect enterprise priorities, customer needs, market dynamics, and asset life-cycle considerations. Business and P&L Leadership : Own marketing inputs to the Retina business plan, including forecast assumptions, operating budgets, resource allocation, performance objectives, and investment trade-offs. Brand Performance and Execution : Direct development, execution, measurement, and optimization of integrated marketing plans. Establish clear performance indicators, identify risks and opportunities, and hold the organization accountable for timely, high-quality delivery and business results. People and Culture Leadership : Lead, coach, and develop direct and indirect team members; set clear priorities, roles, and decision rights; foster high-performing culture grounded in trust, accountability, agility, collaboration, and enterprise leadership. Launch and Life-Cycle Management : Lead commercial strategy and readiness for launch products, including go-to-market planning, positioning, customer and site-of-care readiness, distribution, access considerations, etc. Ensure continued optimization of established brands. Customer and Market Insight : Maintain deep understanding of retina specialists, patients, practices, sites of care, health care decision makers and competitive dynamics. Cross-Functional Leadership : Serve as the senior Marketing representative for Retina aligning Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Trade, Supply Chain, Patient Services, Analytics, R&D, Global, etc. around shared priorities, decisions, resourcing, and execution. External Partnerships and Reputation : Oversee agency and vendor partnerships and guide appropriate engagement with external collaborators, professional societies, and advocacy organizations. Executive Communication and Influence : Provide clear recommendations, updates, and decision frameworks to broader AbbVie leadership. Influence and communicate across organizational matrix. Compliance and Governance : Ensure all strategies and activities comply with AbbVie policies and applicable legal, regulatory, medical, and industry requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred. Minimum 10 years of Marketing experience Extensive progressive pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or specialty-care commercial experience, including significant leadership in marketing and brand strategy. Demonstrated success leading a franchise, portfolio, or major brand across multiple life-cycle stages, including launch planning and in-market growth. Strong people-leadership experience with
