As a Senior Director in the Catalyst- Category Development Team, you'll be responsible for developing our merchandising strategy, tactics and assortment alongside our merchant leadership and cross functional partners. The Senior Director will drive our process from customer research, historical analytics, external market data and trends through the Winning Model and deliver a market beating assortment hand in hand with our NCD’s to our entire chain. You will be responsible to meet sales targets, market share, operational efficiency targets and financial goals. Must bring a sense of urgency and prioritization to assigned categories and coach, train and mentor your associates to drive results.

Main responsibilities: Develop and Oversee Merchandise & Assortment Strategy

Develop merchandising strategy from category to item and oversee the Winning Model process through to partnering with schematic execution – collaborating with your merchant partners to ensure the assortment brings the strategy to life Develop & execute new and innovative merchandising strategies like clustering and cross merchandising. Partner closely with division VP Marketing & Merchandising and National VP’s and Retail Operations to ensure buy in and feedback occurs. Maintain constant awareness of competitive landscape and monitor competitor activities. Provide feedback to Leadership and National & Division Merchandising departments to maintain local relevance.

Profitably Grow Sales

Accountability for Sales plan achievement for business metrics across Online and Instore sales of assigned categories profitably, sustainably, and with improved productivity. Create objective assessments throughout the process to ensure we are hitting our goals and course correct as a true partner. Review and provide feedback as a correction of errors along with an action plan.

Collaborate Across the Organization

Cultivate working relationships, partnership and collaboration with Merchandising, Marketing, Own Brands, Sourcing, Divisions, and eCommerce operations to share 'best practices' that optimize performance, improve results and enhance the customers' experience. Collaborate with all the above to ensure our plans are consistent with the company's overall strategic initiatives and develop effective strategies and business plans. Coach, lead, train, and mentor staff Provide inspirational leadership and direction to merchandising, technology, 3rd Parties and operations teams. Develop partnerships with, and manage, platform stakeholders. Work closely with our Process, Product & Technology team to ensure they are close to the business and developing great relevant solutions. Work closely with our Process & Technology team to ensure training materials are appropriate for the functions and are delivered professionally and on a timely basis. Lead our Category Advisor program, guiding the optimal inputs, goal alignment and selection process. Work in lockstep with our technology and process teams to ensure we are best in class and deliver value against all our investments.
