Cabot Corporation is seeking an SH&E Specialist to join the team onsite at the Franklin, LA facility. The Cabot facility is one of the most complex carbon black sites in the network that will lend an opportunity for an individual to leave their mark! This role is ideal for a Safety and Health professional with experience in chemical manufacturing, construction, or other high-risk industrial environments who enjoys combining hands-on field engagement with a disciplined, systems-based approach to safety. The successful candidate will be a visible partner, trusted advisor, and champion of continuous improvement, helping to create and sustain a world-class safety culture. This role is responsible for: Moderately complex technical work in a wide range of health and safety disciplines. Providing mid-level analysis to department, plant and site managers. Assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary to ensure the overall safety and health of employees and the community. This role is based fully onsite 5 days a week. How You’ll Make an Impact: Collect, analyze, evaluate and distribute S&H management information. Create and/or run reports for distribution to management. Monitoring safety and health performance by running reports. Provide recommendations, as appropriate, for improvements to S&H programs. Investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or uncomfortable conditions in the workplace. Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize the hazard potential. Conduct employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs. Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice. May provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel Participate on internal committees and teams, as appropriate. Track and monitor existing and pending regulations and make recommendations, as appropriate Participate in SH&E audits, as appropriate. Provide assistance to staff and managers in assessing and achieving Corporate goals and objectives. Maintain working knowledge of specific requirements imposed by government agencies. Assist in the design and conduct of SH&E employee and contractor training programs. Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region. What You’ll Bring to Cabot:
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Safety Engineering or Occupational Safety or related is preferred. 3+ years’ related experience (i.e. industrial hygiene management, confined space training, OSHA regulations, logistics and heavy machinery, etc) Experience communicating safety incidents, investigation findings, and corrective actions effectively to employees, frontline supervisors, and senior leadership Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to create reports, analyze data, develop presentations, and communicate effectively across the organization Industry Experience: Chemical
