About the Role
Based in Lismore, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and commissioning security systems across a portfolio of customer sites. This is a hands-on position that offers a mix of service, technical problem-solving, customer engagement, and project delivery. Working alongside experienced technicians and industry experts, you'll play a key role in ensuring customers' critical security systems remain reliable, compliant, and operating at peak performance.
What You'll Be Doing
Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electronic security systems across customer sites. Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled system inspections. Deliver small to medium security system upgrades, modifications, and fit-out projects. Commission newly installed security systems and verify performance against design specifications. Prepare quotations and recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and system improvements. Provide expert technical advice and build strong relationships with customers. Collaborate with subcontractors, project teams, and service colleagues to ensure successful project delivery. Maintain accurate service documentation and reports. Contribute to a strong safety culture by identifying and addressing hazards and ensuring compliance with company safety standards. Achieve and maintain full compliance with Johnson Controls' Safety, Health & Environment Management System (SHEMS).
About You
We're interested in hearing from security professionals, electricians, HVAC technicians, communications technicians, fire technicians, and other technically skilled tradespeople with experience in building technologies and critical infrastructure environments. You will ideally have: Minimum 2 years' experience in a Security Technician or similar field service role. Trade qualification in Security, Electrical, HVAC, Electronics, Communications, or a related discipline. Current NSW Security Licence. Strong experience in the maintenance, fault-finding, repair, and commissioning of security systems. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. Willingness to travel within the region as required. Highly Regarded Experience with Gallagher Security Management Systems . Exposure to Building Management Systems (BMS) or integrated building technologies. Experience working in healthcare, industrial, commercial, government, or critical infrastructure environments.
