What We're Looking For
In this role, you will learn how Zebra infrastructure solutions enable IT and business execution, while gaining an understanding for the fundamentals of IT applications, Security Operations, and Server & Storage Engineering. This role will work under the direction of a more senior team member who is proficient in this area. Objective The primary focus of this role is to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, by designing and deploying infrastructure which meets business solution requirements while adhering to Zebra IT standards (with an emphasis on cloud enablement and zero-trust security). This entails generating scalable and secure architecture across our global IT ecosystems, establishing standard blueprints for application-focused infrastructure design, and guiding engineering teams to bring complex digital platforms to life. An additional responsibility of this role is to drive the ongoing alignment of existing application infrastructure with our compute and OS lifecycle processes, while actively facilitating the design and streamlining of these processes. Responsibilities
Solution Engineering Architect Collaboration: Partners with IT Solution Architects to validate that server and storage infrastructure designs align with the overall technical vision as well as security and capacity requirements. Collaborates on evaluating end-to-end solution cost, assessing infrastructure risks for new deployments, and ensuring seamless integration with existing Infrastructure. Service Intake Process (SIP): Actively manages preliminary server intake requests and assists with the operational execution of SIP processes Service Level Objective (SLO) Metric and Reporting: Generate quarterly SLO reports for SIP requests to verify that operational targets are met. Perform monthly/quarterly End of Life (EOL) and SIP reporting. Backup SIP Coverage: Lead the architectural and SIP meetings when the designated SIP manager or coordinators are out of the office. AI and Automation: Leverage AI and automation to reduce manual efforts for SIP and EOL processes and documentation. End-of-Life (EOL) Process Lead: Coordinate with business units on the decommissioning of aging IT supported systems.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree. Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of a bachelors degree 2+ years of related experience Excel analysis and data management (e.g., pivot tables, lookup functions) Visio diagram creation and shape manipulation Cross-platform expertise in Linux and Windows (virtual and physical) server infrastructure design and system requirements Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and serverless containers (e.g., GKE, Cloud Run, EKS, AKS) General understanding of network topologies, routing, and communication protocols
