About the position

The Subsea Controls Engineer is part of the Subsea team within Chevron ENGINE. The Subsea Controls Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support for the long-term management of subsea controls system equipment (including manifolds, trees, instrumentation, flowmeters, SCMs, subsea chokes, HPUs, EPUs, CDUs, communications, and distribution systems) for subsea production systems. Primary focus areas are electro/hydraulic controls, instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, rate control, etc.), automation, project management, local and international contractor’s management, hazard evaluation, reliability assessment, system performance monitoring, maintaining regulatory compliance, and minimizing potential operating downtime. The incumbent supports the operations team in an engineering capacity with the technical maintenance, troubleshooting, assessments, intervention planning, and offshore execution related to subsea production systems. Incumbent shall ensure safe reliable operations that meet all applicable standards and engineering best practices and develop company's know-how in this area. Support and work with the Subsea and Operations team members daily.   Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.

Job Description

Provides advanced design verification support for Chevron projects worldwide, assisting with pipeline concept development, pre-FEED, FEED, risk assessments, detailed design, procurements, fabrication, qualification testing, installation, pre-commissioning, and creating integrity management plans to ensure reliable pipeline systems.  Support and managing bidding processes, evaluating contractor proposals, assessing their technical capabilities, and supervising their execution when necessary.  Assist in pre-FEED and FEED pipeline efforts and conducting both regular and advanced analyses, covering shallow and deepwater scenarios, including rigid and flexible pipeline systems designed for a wide spectrum of design conditions, including corrosive fluids, mid high pressure/temperature oil, large gas, and export functions.  Review and develop technical specifications, provide clarifications and exceptions to supplier and contractors and oversee design, manufacturing and installation plans. Maintaining and improving Chevron pipeline-related specifications, consolidating lessons learnt.  Participate in innovation, technology development and deployment, and continuous improvement in pipeline systems.
