THE OPPORTUNITY
Vir Bio is looking for a Temporary Senior Human Resources Business Partner to serve as a strategic partner to assigned client groups, providing guidance to leaders and managers on a broad range of people-related matters. You will work closely with business leaders, HR leadership, and centers of excellence to support organizational effectiveness, build manager capability, and drive people-focused solutions aligned with company values.
You will engage across a range of areas, including workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, performance management, organizational change, and employee experience. While the role is focused on providing day-to-day HRBP support to assigned client groups, you will also collaborate with senior HR colleagues on more complex or cross-functional matters.
This role is based in our San Francisco, California office with the expectation to be onsite three days per week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Serve as a trusted HR partner for assigned client groups, providing guidance to leaders and managers on employee matters, performance, team effectiveness, and company policies
• Build trusted relationships with leaders and employees, connecting them with the right HR resources and support
• Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organizational changes, talent needs, and employee engagement initiatives
• Advise managers on feedback, performance conversations, and the consistent application of company policies and practices
• Address employee relations matters with sound judgment, escalating complex issues as appropriate and maintaining necessary documentation
• Use workforce data, employee feedback, and HR metrics to identify trends, provide insights, and support decision-making
• Support the execution of HR programs, processes, and operational initiatives in partnership with HR colleagues and business leader
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING
• Bachelor's degree; coursework or a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience supporting leaders within the biopharma industry
• Demonstrated experience across talent management, performance management, workforce planning, employee relations, and change management
• Ability to translate business needs, data, and employee feedback into practical recommendations and solutions
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
