Job Description

AbbVie headquarters Europe is looking for a Strategic Site Partne r (SSP) attached to the Strategic Site Partnership Director. The Strategic Site Partner builds and strengthens long-term partnerships with key investigative sites to help accelerate the delivery of AbbVie’s clinical pipeline. Serving as the primary relationship lead for assigned sites, the SSP works closely with site leadership, principal investigators and clinical staff, as well as AbbVie cross-functional teams, to improve collaboration, identify operational opportunities and support efficient clinical trial delivery across studies and programs.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute tailored engagement strategies for assigned strategic sites. Build trusted, long-term relationships with site leadership, principal investigators and clinical research teams through proactive, high-quality partnership management. Act as the central point of contact between assigned sites and AbbVie, ensuring site perspectives, needs and opportunities are understood and represented internally. Partner with sites and internal stakeholders to identify and address barriers to clinical trial delivery, including risks and complex operational issues spanning multiple studies or programs. Review site performance, capacity, quality indicators and relevant KPIs; collaborate with sites on improvement opportunities and mitigation plans. Share upcoming portfolio and study forecasts to support site resource planning, study feasibility and participation discussions. Identify opportunities to improve consistency, operational effectiveness and trial acceleration at site, study and program level. Apply industry best practices and innovative approaches to strengthen site experience and remove operational barriers. Facilitate strong cross-functional collaboration across AbbVie to align scientific, operational and strategic priorities with site needs. Escalate risks and issues appropriately, driving timely resolution in partnership with relevant stakeholders. Contribute to AbbVie’s reputation as a preferred partner for clinical research institutions and investigators.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; degree in a healthcare, scientific or related discipline preferred. Significant clinical research experience, typically including 10+ years in clinical development, clinical operations, site management or a related field. Experience in strategic relationship management with investigative sites, institutions or other external partners preferred. Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, including drug development and clinical trial operations. Demonstrated ability to develop strategy, manage complex priorities and drive operational improvements. Excellent communication, relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels. Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex issues from multiple perspectives. Proven ability to influence without direct authority, build alignment and lead through change and ambiguity. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and adapting plans as needed. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language
