Feed Batching Skilled FM02 The starting pay for this position is $19.65/hr. with a $1.00 shift increase for second and third shift . This facility operates to support feed manufacturing and delivery operations for poultry production and may operate on weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed to meet production and customer demands.
JOB SUMMARY
The Feed Batching Skilled FM02 is responsible for accurately batching and producing feed according to formulations and production schedules. This position monitors ingredient usage, maintains inventory accuracy, performs minor maintenance, communicates with dispatch and operations personnel, and ensures feed is produced safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Tyson Foods quality, safety, and biosecurity standards.
Working conditions
Must be able to work in all-weather/climate conditions from very cold to very hot and humid. Must be able to work in a dusty environment.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include batching feed, maintaining production records, monitoring ingredient inventory, operating batching systems and equipment, communicating production needs, and supporting overall feed mill operations. Accurately record production data, ingredient usage, inventories, and required documentation. Calculate feed production capabilities and ingredient requirements to support production schedules. Read and accurately use a tape measure to determine end-of-shift inventories. Operate feed batching and mill equipment in accordance with established procedures. Open heavy doors and clean out mills, bins, and related equipment as required. Push and pull pallet jacks loaded with bulk materials and one-ton ingredient bags and safely position and hang ingredients for production. Perform minor maintenance duties using hand tools and report equipment concerns promptly. Communicate with dispatch and operations personnel to ensure feed requirements are being met and production schedules are maintained. Monitor ingredient inventories and notify management of shortages, discrepancies, or operational concerns. Maintain good housekeeping and sanitation throughout batching, production, and service areas. Work safely in elevated areas (heights) and around moving machinery while following all established safety procedures. Follow and operate within all Tyson Foods health, safety, quality assurance, and biosecurity protocols. Obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses associated with the position. Work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Complete all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
Must be willing and able to perform the following: Must be willing and able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, safety glasses, respirators where applicable, gloves, hard hats, and steel-toed footwear. Must be willing and able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, cold, and outdoor environments with heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather. Must be willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on production and demand scheduling. Must be willing and able to work in elevated areas and follow all established safety procedures. Must follow all Tyson Foods biosecurity policies and procedures, including signing and complying with Company Biosecurity Guidelines and avoiding contact with avian species as required. Must be willing and able to maintain good housekeeping throughout batching, production, and service areas. Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
