About the Opportunity This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00 The Benefits Representative is responsible for the design, development, implementation and ongoing administration of assigned health & welfare benefit plans. Responsibilities include: - Participating in the development, implementation and administration of employee and retiree benefit programs. - Conducting research and analysis related to health and welfare benefit plans and develops sound recommendations. - Educating HR team members, employees and retirees on benefit plans, policies and procedures. - Advising on eligibility, coverage, claim procedures, and other benefits matters. - Functioning as a liaison to benefit vendor partners. - Participating on annual open enrollment and HR projects. - Providing support to the HR Help Desk team. - Ensuring compliance with benefit-related laws. - Maintaining company plan documents. - Monitoring Affordable Care Act (ACA) status. - Monitoring plan enrollment and audit records. - Working closely with IT and HR Analytics. - Participating in audit inquiries. - Analyzing benefits data and reporting requests. - Seeking process improvements. Qualifications at the HR Rep III level include: - Bachelor's degree and 4-7 years relevant experience, or 7 years relevant experience in lieu of degree. - Understanding of HR functional areas. - Microsoft Office proficiency. - Oracle proficiency. - Strong communication, organization and analytical skills. Qualifications at the HR Rep IV level include the above plus: - Bachelor's degree and minimum 7 years experience, or 10 years in lieu of degree.
