Location: For this role, we are looking for candidates who are able to work onsite in our Galway office two to three days per week. Software Engineer – Agentic Orchestration About the Role We're a tight-knit, diverse team that believes software innovation is at the heart of creating value with AI, working across the organisation with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative, supportive culture. We are seeking a backend-focused Software Engineer to work on Agentic Orchestration (AO), which turns a customer's intent into an outcome by reasoning over journey state, policies, and goals to decide and drive the next best action across AI agents, systems, and people.
What You Will Do
Build the backend services behind an AI-assisted authoring experience that turns natural language into structured, machine-readable plans — the plans that drive an agentic orchestration system's decisioning at runtime Integrate large language models to both generate these plans and automatically validate them, handling structured output and non-deterministic behaviour, and enforce schemas that keep each plan complete, consistent, and ready to power orchestration Integrate with a range of internal services to discover and surface the building blocks authors assemble into their plans, normalising different data sources into a common model Own features end-to-end from design through deployment, working across an agile team and building alignment among multiple stakeholders Required Skills & Experience University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience), with minimum 3 years of software engineering experience Strong backend service development in the team's stack either (Java) or (Python), with strong REST API design and solid understanding of OOP/FP principles, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms Hands-on experience integrating LLMs from a backend, including generating structured output and handling retries, malformed responses, and non-determinism Experience integrating across multiple services, including auth and pagination, and normalising data pulled from different sources RESTful API development, microservices concepts, and hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and Git version control Effective communicator who builds stakeholder alignment and thrives in agile teams with active participation in code reviews Desirable Skills & Experience The following would be great additions but are not required: Experience with AWS MCP (Model Context Protocol): Building servers and exposing tools, as the integration path to other internal services Agentic & Orchestration Patterns: Understanding of state, tools, and planning loops Evaluation & Validation Mindset: Building eval harnesses or testing non-deterministic systems What We Offer You'll work on innovative AI solutions that impact millions of users globally, alongside accomplished engineers and researchers invested in your growth.
