Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Design Engineering Manager. This is a Full Time role working ONSITE Monday-Friday (Daylight hours). This position is based at our Fayetteville, NC location. Relocation benefits are available from within the United States. The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. What you’ll do: The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the Continuous Improvement Engineering (CIE) teams supporting the Low Voltage Motor Control Center (LVMCC) and Power Factor Capacitor (PFCA) product lines. This position oversees the engineering resources dedicated to these efforts and actively contributes to the execution of maintenance and design initiatives. The main function of this role is to maintain the design standards and collaborate with the NPD team on the development of new designs. This position plays a key strategic role by collaborating directly with Manufacturing, Application Engineering, Quality, and New Product Development teams to provide technical guidance and resolve cross-functional issues. The role is also responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, ensuring full compliance with applicable ISO standards and requirements. This role also has the responsibility of overseeing the automation systems, and the continuous improvement of these systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manage the workload, productivity, and provide guidance for multiple CIE teams as necessary to ensure compliance with engineering design and drafting standards, manufacturing needs and quality support. Manages incoming work and provides standards guidance to multiple outside teams Manages the resources responsible for maintaining custom design programs for manufacturing and engineering systems as required Manage multiple large projects (Cost Out, New Design, Product Improvement, part obsolescence and substitution) across product lines to completion within deadlines with little or no supervision. Provides design and technical assistance to plant support functions, field sales, and customers as needed. Leads the Continuous Improvement activities within the CIE teams for all product lines. Manages the resolution of quality issues related to CIE Collaborate across the division with other CIE groups to resolve design, BOM and technical questions. Review of product deviations and provide solutions to unique/non-standard situations. Qualifications: Basic (Required) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering Five (5)+ years mechanical design experience Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree from accredited institution Experience interfacing with internal customers/departments Familiarity with object orientated programming languages Six Sigma Certification Advanced knowledge of manufacturing operations Previous experience managing others Professional Engineering license Skills: Extensive knowledge and technical expertise in ECO processes and engineering methods. Extensive knowledge of ANSI, UL and NEMA Standards. Extensive knowledge of ASME drafting standards and GD&T application.
