Description: Backup Administrator (Eng Store/Backup Admin) We are seeking a dynamic and experienced technical professional join our team as a experienced Backup Administrator. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of design, implementation and management of multiple enterprise backup solutions and have good knowledge of Cyber recovery and disaster recovery. You will be required to work closely with our subject matter experts to contribute in planning, implementation, maintenance and fine tuning of Backup infrastructure. Should be strong in verbal and written communication and be open for a Flexible work schedule.
Principal Responsibilities
Design, Implementation and Administration of Backup environments running on Various backup solutions such as CommVault (Primary), Azure Backup (Secondary), Rubrik, Netbackup, Veeam, Druva etc. Backup Configuration & administration of Cloud native workloads (AWS, Azure etc.) Troubleshoot deep technical issues in Backup environments running on the Mentioned Tools & Technologies. Drive them to Resolution. Demonstrate a high degree of creativity in performing tasks by identifying, proposing and implementing streamlining activities to reshape technology and processes. Propose and Implement Backup Improvement Initiatives to enhance backup Performance & Backup Success Rates. Handle Technical Escalations from Level 1 support team. Generate and analyze various Backup Reports. Perform Backup Assessments and Audits. Report on the findings, propose plans and implement them to bridge gaps. Execute and follow Incident management, Change Management and Problem management in line with current ITIL Standards. Engage Vendors on deep technical issues and work with them through the resolution. Identify recurring issues and create problem incidents to find the root cause of the event. Track Backup Systems’ Capacity and Propose Appropriate Measures proactively. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of backup configurations, procedures, and policies. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing updates on key accomplishments and any challenges or issues. Work with other cross-functional teams to provide seamless Service Delivery. Participate in DR exercises. Work in rotational shifts (24X7 coverage model) and provide on call support as required. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, driving efficiency and effectiveness within the organization. Familiarize yourself with automation tools and scripting languages to streamline routine tasks and improve efficiency. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
Required Skills
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science or a related field. Atleast 5 years of Experience in IT Infrastructure management. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing various backup infrastructures. Experience of managing Azure and AWS native backup environments (certification preferred). Windows and UNIX Server Administration experience. Knowledge of Storage, Networking and Database concepts. In depth ITIL process Knowledge & Certification. Good Knowledge of Incident, Problem and Change Management Processes. Knowledge in using Service Management Tool like Service Now, Remedy etc. Ability to clearly articulate situations / issues to cross-functional teams and clients. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
