Job Description

Job Family Definition: Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates VLSI components and hardware systems. Determines architecture and logic design, design verification through software developed for component and system simulation, and builds physical implementations through development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Analyzes designs to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results to enable prototype and production VLSI solutions. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Management Level Definition: Contributions have substantial technical impact on a significant HPE product/project, or a strategic/architectural direction. Go-to creator and innovator for critical business challenges and opportunities. Substantial, unique contributions provide long-lasting, recurring benefits like time-to-market improvements, cost reductions, or satisfying future and current unmet customer needs. Recognized internal authority on key technology areas. Provides technical leadership to the business for significant project/program work. Responsibilities

Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for systems, equipment, and device testing across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit, while also potentially working across different Business Units. Contributes to strategy & technology roadmaps. Identifies and makes recommendations regarding new technologies, innovations, and outsourced testing partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value. Creates plans for integration and update into architecture. Reviews and evaluates product designs and project activities for compliance with technology and testing guidelines and standards. Provides tangible feedback based on results to improve product quality and mitigate risk of product failure. Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups. Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members to set an example of test engineering design and development innovation and excellence. Acts as an internal authority on VLSI engineering sought out for consulting across organizations or Business Units. Conducts reviews of material specifications and hardware, and electrical component design. Evaluates and selects forms of empirical analysis, modelling, and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.

Education and Experience

Required: Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Typically 12+ years’ experience. Knowledge and Skills: Experience designing and developing testing tools, automation, and software packages.
