About this role
About the Team
At DoorDash, our people are at the heart of everything we do. With operations spanning 40+ countries, ensuring smooth and compliant immigration is critical to our growth. The Global Immigration pillar within our Global Mobility & Immigration (GMI) team manages immigration strategy and operations worldwide, partnering with employees, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, compliant solutions that enable global workforce agility.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Global Immigration Manager to lead our global immigration program. You’ll shape policy, drive strategy, and manage our global immigration vendor network to ensure scalable, compliant solutions. This is a rare opportunity to shape how a high-growth global company navigates immigration - balancing compliance, scalability, and employee experience to enable our workforce to thrive. You’ll also lead and mentor immigration professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality delivery.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Head of Global Mobility & Immigration on our Global Mobility & Immigration (GMI) team within Global People Operations, serving as part of the GMI leadership team.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
• Lead our global immigration strategy and policy, designing scalable frameworks and governance aligned with DoorDash’s talent and business goals.
• Oversee global immigration operations, including direct accountability for US immigration - our largest and most complex - ensuring compliance, consistency, and operational excellence.
• Manage and develop immigration professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Partner across Legal, Talent Acquisition, People Business Partners, and People Operations to integrate immigration into business planning and enable global workforce mobility.
• Drive vendor performance, process improvements, and scalable initiatives that enhance compliance, efficiency, and employee experience, helping to future-proof our operations.
• Support M&A and new-market expansion by leading immigration due diligence and designing solutions that ensure smooth transitions and operational readiness.
• Act as a subject-matter expert and trusted advisor, offering pragmatic, business-aligned guidance to stakeholders globally.
We’re excited about you because…
• You have 6–10 years of global immigration experience with deep expertise across multiple jurisdictions, including US and EMEA.
• You’ve led immigration programs in multinational, fast-paced environments, balancing compliance, business enablement, and employee experience.
• You have experience managing and developing immigration professionals and driving vendor performance and accountability.
• You’re a strong communicator and problem-solver who can simplify complexity and partner effectively across functions.
• You think strategically but aren’t afraid to dive into details to make things happen.
• You’re curious about using new tools - including AI - to enhance efficiency, insights, and the employee experience.
• You act with integrity, adaptability, and sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
