Job Description We are seeking a skilled Transportation Planner to support transportation planning, mobility studies, land use assessments, and infrastructure development projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation planning, traffic and mobility analysis, development review, stakeholder coordination, and preparation of planning studies. This role involves analyzing transportation systems, supporting regional planning initiatives, conducting research, and providing recommendations to improve transportation networks and community development outcomes. • Manages complex planning studies, development applications and reviews. • Reviews and processes complex comprehensive plan amendments, rezoning, annexations, site plans and plats. • Conducts research and prepares statistical reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues. • Provides professional planning assistance to member communities on varied land use and transportation projects. • Develops plans, studies and analyses on regional basis. • Works in regional program areas relating to natural/water resources planning, community development, hazard mitigation, coastal zone management, and others. • Performs field inspections to gather data relevant to the development review process and/or to verify that development projects comply with approved plans. • Conducts meetings and presents reports and other findings to staff with advisory boards and elected officials. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field. 3-8 years of experience in transportation planning, mobility planning, traffic studies, or infrastructure planning. Strong understanding of transportation systems, land use planning, and regional development principles. Additional Information Experience with transportation modeling software such as VISUM, TransCAD, Cube, EMME, or similar tools. Knowledge of sustainable transportation, public transit planning, active transportation, and smart mobility solutions. Experience working on government, municipal, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
