Summary The Director of Product Management, athenaOne Foundations, is responsible for defining product strategy, roadmap, and measurable business outcomes for the core services, platforms, and engineering environments that power athenaOne.This leader translates athenaOne Foundations strategy into clear product direction, aligning investment to the needs of internal users, dependent product teams, and the long-term modernization goals of athenahealth. athenaOne Foundations is focused on modernizing, stabilizing, and scaling the core services and environments that enable innovation across athenaOne. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, product engineering, R&D, Security, Finance, and Infrastructure, and is accountable for shaping a coherent portfolio of capabilities that improve resiliency, scalability, developer experience, and productivity in an AI-first world. This Hybrid role is based in Chennai, India, requires 10+ years of experience, and reports to the Executive Director, Product.

Summary athenaOne Foundations modernizes, stabilizes, and scales the core services and environments that enable innovation across athenaOne. The team works across platform engineering, product engineering, R&D, Security, Finance, and Infrastructure to improve resiliency, scalability, developer experience, and productivity. The team places emphasis on leveraging AI and automation to simplify internal workflows, improve R&D productivity, and support an AI-first operating model. Essential Job Responsibilities Define and manage the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for athenaOne Foundations. Translate modernization, resiliency, scalability, security, and platform investment needs into clear priorities, sequencing, and measurable outcomes. Own success metrics for Foundations products and services, including reliability, adoption, satisfaction, productivity, scalability, and value realization. Represent internal users, including engineers, product teams, platform consumers, and operational stakeholders. Translate complex technical capabilities into clear product narratives, priorities, decision frameworks, and change management plans. Partner with R&D, Internal Developer Platform, Security, Infrastructure, Finance, and other leaders to align roadmaps, dependencies, funding priorities, and delivery plans. Support build-versus-buy decisions, service boundary decisions, lifecycle management, and platform investment planning. Lead, coach, and develop product managers and/or product owners supporting Foundations capabilities and internal platform experiences. Build team operating mechanisms that reinforce accountability, fast learning, execution discipline, and continuous improvement. Use AI and automation intentionally to improve product outcomes, reduce friction, simplify workflows, and increase productivity Expected Education & Experience 10+ years of experience in product management, platform product management, or technical product leadership in complex software environments. Demonstrated success owning product roadmaps and measurable outcomes across multiple teams and stakeholders. Strong product judgment in technical environments, including the ability to assess tradeoffs and influence priorities. Experience defining outcomes such as resiliency, scalability, quality, productivity, service performance, adoption, or customer satisfaction. Strong business acumen, including investment planning, cost management, and value-based prioritization. Excellent communication and storytelling skills across executive, technical, and operational audiences. Experience leading and developing high-performing product teams. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in software, engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred; experience in healthcare,
