Title: Quality Engineer Intern (Summer 2027) Location: Independence, MO Salary: $30.00 / hour Housing Stipend Available Focus: The Quality Engineer Intern supports quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives by assisting with audits, data analysis, process evaluations, and quality reporting activities. This role provides hands-on experience in quality management systems, manufacturing processes, root cause analysis, and cross-functional problem solving while helping ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
Support quality assurance activities to help ensure products and processes meet established quality standards and customer requirements Assist with conducting process and product audits to identify potential quality concerns and opportunities for improvement Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to support performance tracking and decision-making Collaborate with engineering, production, supply chain, and business teams to resolve quality-related concerns What You'll Bring: Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Chemical, Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering degree program Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times throughout your time at Olin. An official transcript will be required each term. Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations. Experience in ammunition and firearms with a knowledge of shooting sports industry is preferred Must have completed sophomore year (or 60 completed credit hours) prior to first rotation with Olin Ability to work full-time (40 hours a week during normal business hours) during rotation; Not eligible for virtual work This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with the U.S. Department of Justice and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Independence Location Only: This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The U.S. Government does not allow non-U.S. citizens onsite at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (Independence, Missouri).
