Work with the United AI Studio engineering teams to help solve business problems Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team's deliverables Write high quality distributed system software Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions Perform code review and mentor junior engineers Should be flexible, adapting to meet the needs of the team, project, or product Mentoring and developing other engineers on the team Participate in the entire software development lifecycle - design, implementation, testing, CI/CD and production operations Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, machine Learning, or related field or equivalent certification 5+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer or a Software Developer 2+ years of experience working in any cloud environment - Azure, AWS, GCP Experience working in a complex, service-oriented service development Good knowledge on technology stack like Java (Spring Boot), REST APIs, Python, Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build process, testing, and operations Proven solid computer science and development fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis Proven exceptional communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with at least one relational or a NoSQL database Experience using terraform or other CI/CD IaC Experience in collaborating with geographically distributed teams Understanding of architecture and experience in design activities Knowledge or working experience on AI/ML projects At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
