Job Title: Quality Inspector C Job Code: 42709 Job Location: Huntsville, AL - AMFS Job Schedule: 4/10 Employees work 10 hour days, 4 days a week Mon-Thu, 1st Shift Job Description: We are seeking a Process Inspector Level C to support operations at either our existing state‑of‑the‑art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Toney, AL, and/or our new AMF in Huntsville, AL, which will serve as our inert manufacturing facility for the fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware. Essential Functions: 60% – Composite Manufacturing Inspection, Process, and Quality Facilitation • Use standard measuring equipment and techniques to inspect products, processes, and procured items to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. • Develop and execute audit plans to ensure processes are being followed, equipment is being maintained and calibrated, and materials meet all requirements, including shelf life. • Partner with the operations team to ensure products meet specifications and schedule requirements. • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions. 25% – Process Standardization • Evaluate similar processes across the shop and create standardized inspection methods and criteria to reduce error, mistake‑proof processes, and define standard work. • Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes, collect data, and/or support research efforts, using sound judgment to identify and recommend solutions where errors may be difficult to detect and costly to resolve. • Troubleshoot processes and identify, modify, or escalate out‑of‑control conditions and production escapes. 15% – Facility Support • Coordinate with maintenance, supervision, and/or the operations team on equipment and tooling setup and calibration. Ensure calibrated‑item processes are followed and conduct periodic facility audits. • Participate in preventative maintenance activities. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
