Job Description
This role is responsible for supporting financial control, reporting, analysis, and governance activities for assigned products, portfolios, or businesses. Partners closely with Front Office, Market Risk, Operations, Finance, and other control functions to help ensure that P&L, balance sheet, valuation, and reporting processes are accurate, timely, well-controlled, and aligned with TD standards. Depth & Scope: Works independently on recurring deliverables while escalating complex, unusual, or higher-risk matters to the manager or appropriate control partners Applies product control, accounting, finance, risk, and operational knowledge to analyze results, assess issues, and recommend practical solutions Interacts with multiple stakeholders across Finance, Front Office, Market Risk, Operations, Technology, and internal control teams Supports a robust control environment by maintaining documentation, following established standards, and identifying improvement opportunities May participate in cross-functional projects, process automation, system implementations, or business transformation activities Demonstrates strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to stakeholders Requires a control mindset, sound understanding of financial products, and the ability to identify, escalate, and help resolve issues that may affect reporting accuracy, financial controls, or operational effectiveness Partners with business, Finance, Risk, Operations, and other control teams to support timely and accurate P&L reporting, commentary, balance sheet review, and issue resolution Prepares, reviews, and explains daily, monthly, and quarterly financial results for assigned products or portfolios, including key drivers, trends, variances, and exceptions Responds to stakeholder requests with clear analysis, appropriate documentation, and timely follow-up Supports ad hoc analysis, management reporting, and business initiatives that require product control expertise Executes assigned controls in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and timelines Maintains accurate process documentation and supports continuous improvement of control procedures, reporting routines, and analytical tools Helps investigate P&L differences, unexplained balances, reconciliation breaks, or valuation discrepancies and support remediation efforts Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field required; advanced degree or professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred 7+ years of relevant experience in product control, finance, accounting, valuation control, audit, market risk, operations, or financial services preferred Working knowledge of financial products, P&L reporting, balance sheet control, reconciliations, and financial control principles Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, prioritize deliverables, and work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
