Saw Filer

Weyerhaeuser Idabel Lumber has an opening for an experienced Saw Filer with a clear commitment to safety, strong leadership values and outstanding core values. This position works with our saw filing team performing saw filing activities for our state-of the-art lumber manufacturing facility in Idabel, OK. The successful candidate must have expertise in safely filing and maintaining band saws and circle saws; machine alignment; maintaining saw filing equipment; and preventive maintenance procedures, including the ability to inspect equipment for signs of wear/damage and recognize unsafe conditions. Key Functions: - Participate in safety meetings and activities as determined by team and mill norms and standards. - Benching and fitting bandsaws. - Sharpening, tipping and benching round saws. - Honing and maintaining knives. - Pour babbit, maintenance of guides and maintaining guide plane. - Complete PMs for sawmill and sawshop machinery as required. - Participate in reliability task teams or activities as required. - Help coach apprentices/operators to learn sawfiling trade and help with PMs.
