Location: Hamburg Start: 01.10.2026 Duration: 6 months Your location You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities In a period of significant growth and ramp-up, Airbus is focussed on ensuring our final assembly lines and plants to achieve their production targets. Process improvement and developing agile, pragmatic solutions to drive planning adherence and overall supply chain performance is one of the priorities. Return Flow Transformation project drives a holistic approach: unifying fragmented activities (silos) and responsibilities into a single, centralized Center of Competence. One centralized partner for all return flow customers, accountable for the Return flow of a site with dedicated KPIs. Fully Decoupled from the nominal flow/from parts Delivery and its priority. The Return Flow Transformation Project has already launched, and the to-be solution has been defined. In the next phase, this solution will be validated during a 6-week prototype phase, where the solution and its activities will be simulated. The objective is to test its overall effectiveness regarding both functionality and financial results. As part of your diploma thesis, you will have the opportunity to independently develop a work package that contributes to the success of this prototype. This will be based on current processes, roles and responsibilities, defined workflows, and the test cases that need to be established. You will be part of a transnational project team Project: Return flow transformation (central organisation to drive return flow activities) Review current methods/processes and the new Roles and responsibilities Methodology and prototype conceptualisation Define factor of success for the prototype and test cases Lead defined Test cases Assessment of operational boundaries, including change management Consolidate key outcomes and result Capture lessons learned of the prototype Desired skills and qualifications Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in the area of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or a similar technical field of study. Basic understanding of Project management. Basic understanding of Process management. Fluent in English and German knowledge would be beneficial.
