DESCRIPTION Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as an Advanced Application Specialist and play a key role in advancing strategic customer success across bioprocessing applications. In this highly visible, customer-facing position, you’ll combine deep scientific and application expertise with consultative engagement to optimize bioprocess workflows, accelerate technology adoption, and identify opportunities for platform expansion and future specifications. As a recognized subject matter expert, you’ll build trusted relationships with technical decision-makers across Process Development, MSAT, and manufacturing organizations. You’ll lead complex customer programs, strategic evaluations, and technology adoption initiatives while identifying opportunities to simplify workflows, improve process performance, and expand the use of Thermo Fisher technologies. You’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout process development, scale-up, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing. By connecting scientific and technical recommendations to operational, manufacturing, and business outcomes, you’ll help customers make informed technology decisions and achieve long-term process success. In partnership with Product Management, R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Global Application Specialists, you’ll translate customer needs and market insights into strategies that support product development, commercialization, and portfolio growth. You’ll also contribute competitive intelligence and Voice of Customer insights to help shape regional technical direction, identify emerging opportunities, and strengthen strategic account planning. As a technical thought leader, you’ll represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at customer innovation workshops, scientific conferences, and industry events. You’ll mentor and coach junior Application Specialists, promote regional best practices, and elevate the organization’s scientific credibility and application expertise. REQUIREMENTS • 7–12 years of progressive experience in bioprocessing, including significant customer-facing technical experience. • Deep technical expertise in bioprocess applications, filtration technologies, and workflow optimization. • Strong understanding of process development, scale-up, technology transfer, MSAT, and commercial manufacturing. • Demonstrated ability to influence senior customer stakeholders, guide technical decisions, and drive technology adoption. • Proven success identifying specification opportunities, platform expansion opportunities, and workflow improvements. • Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear operational, manufacturing, and business value for customers. • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence without formal authority. • Demonstrated thought leadership through mentoring, Voice of Customer insights, technical presentations, and industry engagement. • Strong communication, presentation, and consultative skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders. • This position will heavily support our Patheon, St Louis, Missouri site. • Ability to travel up to
