Job Description
As a Prepaid Claims Specialist, you will investigate and resolve claims involving unauthorized, disputed, or erroneous prepaid card transactions. You'll manage cases from initial review through final resolution, researching account and transaction activity, evaluating evidence, determining appropriate outcomes, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies. The role requires strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The position is primarily back-office and investigative, with communication occurring through written correspondence and case documentation. This role requires working from one of the posted U.S. Bank locations three (3) or more days per week.
Responsibilities
Investigate and resolve prepaid card claims, disputes, fraud cases, processing errors, and transaction-related issues Research account activity and analyze information from multiple sources to determine appropriate claim outcomes Initiate chargebacks and recovery efforts when applicable Review supporting documentation and maintain accurate case records Process claim-related transactions including credits, adjustments, and customer correspondence Prioritize and manage multiple cases while meeting quality and productivity expectations Adapt to changing regulations, policies, and operational procedures Collaborate with business partners to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution Basic Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent - Typically at least one year of related work experience Preferred Skills/Experience - Analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills - Proven commitment to high quality customer service - Good time management skills to maximize the customers that can be assisted while maintaining a high level of customer service - Ability to work with well with customers and discern and communicate complex details related to claims or disputes - Competent in leveraging standard technology, tools, and applications used within the industry role - Effective verbal and written communication skills, with proficient research and analytical abilities - Ability to perform assigned work in a deadline sensitive environment If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants .
