Standard Job Description The Configuration Analyst translates business and engineering requirements into functional system settings, rules, and workflows within platforms such as Atlassian. This role controls technical baselines, tracks configuration changes, and leads Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities to ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., NIST SP 800‑53, SP 800‑171, SP 800‑128). The analyst partners with Information Assurance, Engineering, Quality, and external stakeholders to resolve deviations and maintain baseline integrity. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Prepares reports of change effect on overall product. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies.
Core Responsibilities
Interpret business and engineering requirements and configure platforms (Jira, Jira Service Management, ProForma, Confluence) to meet those requirements. Establish, maintain, and enforce technical baselines; track all configuration changes in the CM database. Schedule, facilitate, and document Configuration Control Board meetings; ensure all change proposals are reviewed, approved, and recorded. Conduct periodic configuration audits and verify compliance with NIST SP 800‑53, SP 800‑171, and SP 800‑128. Work with Information Assurance, Engineering, Quality Control, and external partners to troubleshoot baseline deviations and drive remediation actions. Generate status and tracking reports for management and customers, highlighting configuration health and outstanding issues. Provide training and guidance to project teams on configuration management processes and tool usage. Maintain and evolve CM tools (e.g., custom Jira workflows, Access databases, SharePoint libraries) to improve identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software baselines. Ensure proper handling of export‑control markings and documentation formats where applicable. Basic Qualifications - Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI. - Minimum 3 years in a Configuration/Data Management (CMDM) role. - Proficiency with Atlassian suite (Jira, Jira Service Management, ProForma, Confluence).• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation. - Proven experience working closely with internal and external customers, including subcontractors. - Prior experience leading Configuration Change Board (CCB) meetings. - Hands on experience conducting configuration audits and ensuring adherence to NIST SP 800 53, SP 800 171, and SP 800 128. Desired Skills - Familiarity with export‑control markings, documentation formatting, and handling. - Experience managing configuration of both hardware and software assets. - Strong organizational and detail‑oriented skills; ability to create clear status and tracking reports. - Development and maintenance of custom CM tools (e.g., scripts, macros, dashboards). - Experience with collaboration platforms: Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Access databases, and additional Atlassian tools. - Knowledge of ANSI/EIA‑649 or equivalent configuration and data‑management standards. - Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations Certified Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $81500.00 - $151300.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
