About this role

Job Description

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.   Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

The Role

Support General Assembly vehicle programs through virtual engineering, dynamic simulation, virtual builds, and manufacturing-readiness assessments. This individual-contributor role owns assigned technical work, delivers accurate simulation results, and collaborates with manufacturing, product, architecture, and virtual engineering partners across multiple vehicle programs. The successful candidate will balance competing priorities, communicate risks early, maintain consistent quality, and meet program milestones while applying simulation, automation, data, and artificial intelligence to improve engineering work.

What You'll Do

Perform dynamic simulations for robotic and manual General Assembly operations using Siemens Process Simulate and Tecnomatix in eMServer and Teamcenter environments. Assess product designs, process concepts, tooling, equipment, and product interfaces for manufacturing readiness, identifying ergonomic, clearance, interference, access, sequence, and process risks early in product development. Lead or support virtual builds across the product lifecycle, including creating and managing manufacturing build sequences using Manufacturing Process Planner. Partner with manufacturing engineers, architecture leads, product teams, and other stakeholders to clarify study objectives, review engineering inputs, develop work-order instructions, and communicate results. Review and compare engineering math data and product information in Teamcenter and visualization tools to identify missing, duplicate, or unnecessary study requests across related vehicle configurations. Configure simulation workcells, execute milestone-driven and non-milestone studies, document issues, prepare clear reports, and recommend improvements to product, process, tooling, and equipment designs. Prioritize work across multiple programs based on timing, workload, study complexity, and business needs while communicating risks and changing priorities early. Perform quality reviews of simulation studies, provide constructive technical feedback, and support knowledge sharing and mentoring for newer team members. Maintain program tracking records and program-specific simulation tool libraries used for dynamic studies. Help validate software releases, revisions, and digital tools used in virtual engineering, and troubleshoot issues involving Teamcenter, Process Simulate, eMServer, engineering data, work orders, or related systems. Use coding, scripting, data, automation, and artificial-intelligence-enabled workflows to reduce repetitive work and improve engineering processes. Identify and implement practical improvements to simulation methods, reports, digital tools, and team processes. Support General Motors vehicle programs by helping identify manufacturing risks earlier, improve product and process decisions, and contribute to successful vehicle launches. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience may be considered. Experience with dynamic simulation, manufacturing process analysis, virtual engineering, or a related technical discipline. Working capability with Siemens Process Simulate, Tecnomatix, or a comparable manufacturing simulation platform. Working capability with Teamcenter,
