Responsibilities We are seeking to expand the Asset Owner & Consultant Coverage team. As the leading provider of investment decision support tools, including Indexes, Analytics, Sustainability & Climate data, and Private Assets data, MSCI continues to grow our footprint with the world's largest asset managers, banks, hedge funds, asset owners, and corporations. The Asset Owner Coverage team works closely with institutional investors in the US across public and private DB/DC pension funds, official institutions, sovereign wealth funds endowments, foundations, and single-family offices. We keep our clients apprised of major market trends and best practices related to asset allocation, benchmarking, risk management, sustainable investment, and cross-asset allocations. The team collaborates across the MSCI Research, Product, and Coverage teams across regions to leverage MSCI’s latest research, tools, and services – we aim to continually add value to our clients’ investment and operations processes. MSCI Asset Owner Sales Specialists are responsible for maintaining existing client relationships and new business development for MSCI products. As such, the successful candidate must balance sophisticated relationship management with the firm’s commercial objectives. Each person travels and conducts remote video-based calls within their respective territory to interact with clients regarding new products as well as enhancements to existing products. Your Key Responsibilities As an MSCI Asset Owner Sales Specialist you are responsible for maintaining and developing new business within the Eastern US territory. The role also demands a consummate relationship builder, both internally and externally, to drive sales, achieve revenue, and benchmark adoption targets. The role entails educating, positioning, and licensing MSCI’s global indexes, Sustainability and Climate tools to current clients and prospective clientele. Sales Specialists use their knowledge of the investment management process, modern portfolio theory, and sustainability-driven insights to position MSCI solutions. This role is a highly visible one, with involvement in all aspects of strategic account management, including senior level relationship management, in-depth discussions regarding MSCI’s Index, Sustainability and Climate methodologies, commercial and contract negotiation, closing sales, and product setup and delivery. Education of the enhancements and evolution of how our indexes and sustainable investing products are used by the investment community is ongoing. In this role, individuals will work very closely with MSCI Product Management, Global Client Service, Client Consultants, Marketing, Global Sales colleagues, Legal Counsel and Finance Operations. Educate potential clients about cross-asset investment trends and how MSCI can enable investors to enhance their capabilities through our market leading ESG Research, Climate, Index, Factor, Private Asset, and Analytics solutions.
