Standard Job Description You will be the Quality Engineer to support the THAAD production program. The THAAD program team provides a challenging environment that stresses continuous improvement and proactive mindset in driving down risk to the product and customer. The position will require working flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area to support Make Site's across the United States. As the Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for assuring that LM THAAD Quality Engineering activities are effective through supporting product line validations as outlined by AS9102, accurate measurement and characterization of resultant performance parameters, and risk management. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Identification of process variation, sources of nonconformance's, and data analysis techniques to create innovative solutions to complex supply chain issues. • Provide systemic support for issue resolution that involves true root cause, full containment, and corrective/preventive actions. • Support Make Site requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs, and program management activities. • Drive Make Site's failure/diagnosis and strong grasp of Material Review Board (MRB) activities. • Develop technical solutions to complex problems and provide liaison support related to quality engineering matters. • Ensure Make Site contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified and interfaces with supplier on a daily basis. • Review documentation related to Make Site manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer. • Excel within a multifunctional Integrated Product Teams with reviews of quality data on yields, rework, scrap, and non-conformance aging. Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Engages in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs. Basic Qualifications -STEM degree at the bachelors level or higher -Ability to obtain a secret clearance -An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of QE Processes, and related Performance Metrics -Must be able to identify and document Make Site's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action -Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions -Experience in disposition of nonconforming Desired Skills -Demonstrated experience in project management from idea creation, to team involvement, thru execution and closeout of actions -A basic understanding of the MFC SAP, Apriso and business systems -ASQ Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt) -Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102
