Senior Staff Software Engineer, YouTube Create

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. Participate in setting up the overall goal and roadmap for the coming years for this product and provide technical guidance for the team of ~40 engineers working on YouTube Create App in Bengaluru. Provide technical leadership, and establish and advocate for the best engineering practices across teams at YouTube. Provide technical mentorship and support the TLMs and TLs on the team with technical decisions. Co-own delivery of OKR and roadmap with the TLMs. Drive cross-organizational collaboration and ensure the strategy, direction, and decisions of multiple work streams are integrated, aligned, and positioned to support differentiation.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
