Senior Software Engineer    This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with a requirement that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in networking systems to join a high-performing engineering team building a leading SD-WAN platform . In this role, you will design and develop scalable, high-performance networking and security components , with a focus on routing, packet processing, and embedded systems . You will work on complex, real-world problems involving multi-core systems, distributed networking, and performance optimization.

Design, develop, and maintain packet processing and routing software components Implement and enhance routing protocol functionality and network control-plane features Develop multi-threaded, high-performance software for embedded networking platforms Build integrations with third-party networking and security modules Prototype and validate new features for proof-of-concept and early-stage solutions Debug and resolve complex networking and system-level issues , including performance bottlenecks Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, systems, product) to deliver production-ready features Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field 6+ years of experience in embedded or systems software development Strong programming skills in C (C++/Python a plus) Experience building multi-threaded applications on Linux or similar systems Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, L2/L3 concepts) Hands-on experience with packet processing systems or dataplane development Strong debugging, problem-solving, and system design skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience with routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) Familiarity with Linux kernel networking and system-level internals Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and SD-WAN architectures Experience with high-performance and scalable systems design Exposure to network security technologies (e.g., VPN, IPsec, firewalling) Experience in distributed systems or performance tuning in production environments ​ Accessibility HPE is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including those with disabilities.
