Job Description

General Summary: The Supply Chain Specialist independently performs a wide variety of activities supporting Vertex’s Supply Chain. The Planner applies proficiency in materials planning and logistics processes/procedures to execute upon production and inventory plans and has the emerging ability to contribute to plan development. The Specialist troubleshoots issues outside of existing practices/procedures as escalated by less senior colleagues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Individual plans packaging based off study design. This includes packaging design to be used - Bottles vs blisters and qty of supplies to produce Inventory management Maintain proper inventory levels for managed clinical studies Clinical – determine how much inventory is needed at each site, review inventory with upcoming expirys – then determine off of that how much more you needed. They need to check with our overall CMSC inventory plan to see the expiry of tablets to determine how much should be shipped to each site Commercial – they look at Commercial forecasts and how the actual sales are going compared to the forecast and adjust plans. They have to meet minimum shelf life requirements – planners need to know that we have the right amt in each market Plan production activities Individual makes decisions on when and how much additional packaging is needed throughout the lifecycle of a study. This is done by the individual alone. Qty’s needed to meet the demand is communicated to the person leading the program. They order what they need to support our targets Assess if shipments are needed Individual responsible for making decisions on how much drug is needed per site and when to send. Needed shipments are sent and monitored. Decision to make additional shipments is the responsibility of this individual alone Solve vendor issues Works with CMO’s to resolve any packaging or distribution errors. Escalates as needed but majority of decisions are made and implemented by this individual Make decisions when to release materials Once packaging is complete this individual is responsible for determining what depots need to be restocked and when inventory needs to be released. There are several things to consider while this is being done expiry, countries, number of ongoing patients, visit schedule Reviews and approves all invoices for their studies - works with finance and CMO’s to resolve issues Knowledge and Skills:

Education and Experience

Pay Range: $74,400 - $111,600 Disclosure Statement: The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
