Position
Summary The Director of Facilities Management leads facilities strategy and service delivery for the organization's portfolio of stores. This role integrates Store Support Center and field-based facilities teams to deliver safe, reliable, cost-effective, and consistent store environments. The Director establishes operating standards, preventive maintenance programs, vendor governance, escalation practices, and performance measures that support store operations and business objectives. The role is accountable for service quality, financial stewardship, team performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across planned, preventive, corrective, and emergency work.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Strategy and Service Delivery Develop and execute a multi-year facilities strategy aligned with business priorities, store operations, portfolio needs, and organizational growth. Lead end-to-end facilities service delivery across the store portfolio, integrating Store Support Center and field teams through common standards, processes, training, and technology. Establish preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance programs that improve asset reliability, store conditions, and speed of response. Set service-level expectations and lead escalation and exception management for critical or high-impact store issues. Partner with Real Estate, Store Operations, Construction, Procurement, Finance, Risk, and other functions to coordinate priorities and resolve cross-functional issues.
Team
Leadership and Operating Model Lead, develop, and hold accountable Store Support Center and field facilities teams; define roles, decision rights, goals, and performance expectations. Build a consistent operating model across facilities trades and regions, including standard work, training, communication, and quality controls. Develop talent and succession plans and foster a responsive, service-oriented, safety-focused culture. Financial and Asset Stewardship Develop and manage facilities operating budgets and forecasts; monitor spending, explain variances, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain service quality. Use asset condition, work-order, cost, and risk data to prioritize maintenance, repair, replacement, and capital recommendations. Provide leadership with clear reporting on financial performance, asset risk, service trends, and investment needs. Vendor and Contract Management Partner with Strategic Sourcing and Procurement to develop sourcing strategies, scopes of work, service levels, and vendor selection criteria. Lead vendor performance management through scorecards, business reviews, corrective action plans, contract compliance, and relationship governance. Evaluate service coverage, capacity, quality, risk, and total cost when selecting or recommending vendors for maintenance, repairs, and capital work. Performance Improvement and Risk Management Establish key performance indicators for responsiveness, completion, quality, cost, preventive maintenance, customer satisfaction, and vendor performance. Implement management systems that capture, prioritize, route, and resolve high volumes of field requests; use performance data to identify root causes and improve outcomes. Ensure facilities programs and work practices comply with applicable laws, codes, safety requirements, company policies, and contractual obligations. Support emergency response, business continuity, and recovery activities affecting stores and facilities. Stay current on facilities management practices, technology, market conditions, and industry trends; translate relevant insights into practical improvements.
