What we need The Director Artificial Intelligence enables enterprise AI value by assessing the technical feasibility, architecture, and delivery approach for AI use cases submitted by business and IT leaders. As the technology counterpart to the Business AI Liaison, this role evaluates best-fit technology, identifies when shared cloud or Corporate AI Platform capabilities are required, and ensures solutions align with enterprise architecture, data, and security standards. As a technical domain expert, the Director Artificial Intelligence promotes the reuse of shared platforms, tools, and components; coaches teams on responsible AI implementation; and helps bridge AI, GenAI, and ML skill gaps across the organization. In partnership with the Business AI Liaison, this role determines when initiatives require AI Innovation Board review for risk, funding, or strategic alignment. The Director Artificial Intelligence also partners with delivery fusion teams to support the successful execution of prioritized AI initiatives, ensuring solutions align with expected business value, enterprise standards, and adoption goals. This role leads a team of AI experts deployed into delivery fusion teams, providing the technical talent, direction, and development needed to execute prioritized AI initiatives. What you’ll do
Review AI use cases submitted through the enterprise AI intake process by IT Business Relationship Managers and business leaders, assessing technical feasibility, best-fit technology, solution options, and level of effort. Identify when use cases require shared cloud, data, or Corporate AI Platform capabilities and engage the AI Platform Team accordingly. Ensure AI solutions align with enterprise AI strategy, architecture, data management, security, integration standards, and the adoption roadmap. Promote the reuse of shared AI platforms, APIs, models, components, tools, and data assets to prevent duplication of effort and improve scalability. Partner with the Business AI Liaison to determine fusion team composition, including required engineering, data, ML, QA, and security capabilities. Lead, develop, and manage a team of AI experts and AI solution engineers assigned to delivery fusion teams to build and deploy prioritized AI initiatives. Allocate and balance AI team capacity across fusion teams and initiatives while establishing technical direction, quality standards, and development priorities for the team. Coach and mentor product, platform, and engineering teams on responsible AI implementation, secure patterns, and delivery best practices. Identify AI, GenAI, and ML skill gaps across technology teams and support enablement through guidance, learning pathways, knowledge sharing, and collaboration models. Evaluate AI use cases for technical risk, data sensitivity, and architectural significance, partnering with the Business AI Liaison to determine when escalation to the AI Innovation Board is required. Support AI governance, funding discussions, and approval processes while minimizing unnecessary friction and delivery bottlenecks. Develop and maintain technical best practices, reference architectures, standards, procedures, quality objectives, and lessons learned. Partner with delivery fusion teams to oversee the successful execution of prioritized AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with intended outcomes, timelines, enterprise standards, and value realization.
