Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors in April 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking a Lead Patient Access Facilitator (Full-Time, Nights) This position serves as a knowledge and resource expert for Patient Access Facilitators. This individual is responsible for assisting with the supervision of staff and supporting management with various functions related to all patient registration activities including patient reception, face-to-face registration, insurance verification, financial counseling, cash collections, chart reconciliation and patient discharge. Individual must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of the registration process and ensures that the team completes the work in a timely fashion. Provide support to an organizational culture that lends the highest degree of service excellence standards to all customer groups. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Acts as a role model and resource person to staff by exemplifying team work, positive customer relations and effective written and verbal communication skills. Participates in the development of both long- and short-range goals for the unit and department that are consistent with goals and objectives of the hospital. Assists management with educating and monitoring staff regarding their own and the organization s responsibilities for regulatory compliance. Identifies deficiencies and notifies Clinical Supervisor or Nurse Manager. Assists in mentoring new staff and facilitates their integration into the hospital. Support and assist with action plans to improve patient, physician and employee satisfaction. Assists with monitoring staffing needs in relation to volume. Mentors new staff. Participate in and supports continuous quality improvements and risk management programs at the unit level. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and adjust to changing situations. Assists with the monitoring of the day to day activities of the ED Registration area. Registers patients and assist staff with registrations to include interviewing patients and entering their demographics and financial information into the hospital s registration system. Greets patient and/or patient representatives, explains general hospital policies related to services, copays, referrals, pre-authorizations and deductibles. Responsible for daily monitoring of quality assurance standards and the collection and evaluation of registration data to assure proper data collection and proper reimbursement. Performs audit of patient records including review of consents, advance directives, MSPs and admission packets for all IP accounts; responsible for visiting units and auditing patient records. Assists supervisor with updating staff with relevant information/changes for SMS and other computer programs in the hospital as they affect the department via written communication or staff meetings. Responsible for the execution of procedures, systems and protocols to guarantee the accurate and timely flow of information necessary for the CBO to effectively and accurately bill for services Assists with maintaining Patient Death Log and completing death certificates.
