Tax Assistant Manager- Aruba

Job Title: Tax Assistant Manager Location: Aruba Position Summary: We are seeking a Tax Assistant Manager for our office in Aruba. In this role, you will contribute to the overall success of the team by overseeing the work of junior staff and client-serving associates, utilizing EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery. You will ensure that our work meets client expectations, keep management informed of progress, develop solutions to client challenges, and liaise with clients as directed. Essential Functions of the Job: As a Tax Assistant Manager, you will:

Ensure compliance with EY independence and client acceptance requirements for all client engagements. Manage a portfolio of clients requiring tax compliance services, including developing budgets, directing engagements, and responding to client needs. Participate in managing the compliance group by forecasting future work, delegating tasks effectively, and resolving staffing issues. Maintain continuous interaction with clients and managers to manage expectations and ensure outstanding service. Collaborate with tax professionals to provide comprehensive tax solutions. Produce draft memoranda or opinions advising clients on tax advisory matters. Regularly review your book of business to ensure timely billing and collection of accounts receivable. Assist in training and motivating junior staff and client-serving associates. Support marketing initiatives as a representative of EY as required by management. Seek opportunities to improve processes within the Tax Department. Accurately report time spent on each engagement in a timely manner.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: In this role, you will encounter various challenges, such as obtaining necessary information from clients. You may liaise directly with clients to resolve routine matters, but for issues involving advice or potential liability, you should consult management for guidance. Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Strong knowledge of tax compliance issues relevant to Aruba and the surrounding regions. Ability to research complex tax issues using statutes, case law, and practice, and apply findings to specific client needs. Proficiency in drafting and reviewing memoranda or opinions on complex tax matters. Capability to formulate plans for gathering information to ensure accurate tax compliance products within budget. Commitment to providing timely, high-quality services that exceed client expectations. Experience in developing and guiding junior tax professionals through effective feedback and support. Up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments in tax law and their application to moderately complex situations. Professional demeanor with a positive attitude, maintaining confidentiality in client relationships. Proficiency in analyzing financial statements for tax compliance and applying relevant tax legislation and accounting standards. Ability to effectively review and resolve outstanding issues before submitting files for manager review.

Supervision Responsibilities: The Tax Assistant Manager will work under the guidance of a Tax Manager and may collaborate directly with Senior Managers or Directors within the Tax Department. You will assist in guiding junior staff and ensure their responsibilities align with their skills and developmental goals. Other Requirements: The Tax Assistant Manager may be required to work overtime during peak periods leading up to filing deadlines. Therefore, leave may not be freely available during these times. Education: A Master's degree in tax law or fiscal economics. Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with exposure to tax compliance and/or advisory work.
