Job Description
Job Family Definition: Serves as the overall account lead (single point of contact) for numerous, large named accounts in an assigned country, geographic territory and/or industry; understands a client’s key business and IT challenges and requirements and is focused on driving value for the client, while maximizing revenue and margin for the company. Specializes in a value or volume specialty (computers, servers, storage, services, printers) with focus on growing the base business, complex solutions, and new business opportunities. Accounts may be managed remotely. Is supported primarily by presales and inside sales resources. These jobs focus on selling to customers, typically through work that occurs outside HPE offices. Management Level Definition: Unique mastery and recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories and techniques. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines, in which the company must operate to be successful. Provides highly innovative solutions. Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower level employees. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives. Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction. Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute account plans to grow market share, focusing on large deals and value/volume management. Collaborate with management for future business strategies and independently determine sales methods. Leverage external partners, build relationships with IT and business executives (including C-levels). Use consultative selling to identify opportunities, ensuring ongoing revenue growth. Maintain high customer loyalty, advocate for client needs, and negotiate solutions. Develop business plans with clients, analyze industry and competitive data for strategic dialogue. Manage and forecast account activity, build a sales pipeline, and generate new business. Achieve sales quotas and margin targets; document opportunities in pipeline tools. Gather references and implement margin recovery strategies. Act as an interface for international accounts and coordinate supply chain options based on customer needs.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred. 12+ years of relevant sales experience, including 5+ years in commercial account management. Expertise in products such as computers, printers, servers, storage, and related industry experience. Recognized as a sales strategy expert and mentor.
