This organization ensures that every molecule, modality and delivery system is robustly developed, scaled, and supplied under rigorous and regulatory standards. The R&D Data Science organization is seeking a Director, Data, Data Science and AI to lead a team of data product engineers, data scientists, and ontology developers in support of the Therapeutics Development and Supply organization. This people leader role is responsible for building and scaling the data engineering, semantic, ontology, and knowledge graph capabilities that underpin all AI/ML and analytics work across TDS. You will lead a team of 5+ individual contributors and partner with cross-functional teams across R&D, DDSAI, and J&J IT to deliver AI-ready, governed, and reusable data products for TDS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data & Data Product Leadership Partner to define and execute the TDS Data Product strategy aligned to TDS and DDSAI priorities; build a multi-year roadmap for data products and ontology that enable AI/ML and GenAI priorities for TDS Define and deliver high-quality, AI-ready data products that serve TDS lighthouse projects and foundational analytics needs. Lead the design, build, and optimization of scalable data product pipelines and platforms that integrate TDS data from diverse sources (ELNs, MES, LIMS, SAP, quality systems, clinical supply). Deploy data quality standards, lineage tracking, and governance practices aligned with enterprise and GxP requirements. Quality Safety & Compliance: Ensure data integrity, data model validation, computerized system compliance, and transparent data model interpretability in regulated environments Semantic Layer & Ontology Strategy Co-deliver the TDS-specific semantic layer strategy: ontologies, reference data, controlled vocabularies, knowledge graph development, and
